Sheds Unlimited History
Our Business History:
For over twenty years now Sheds Unlimited has been producing quality sheds, barns and car garages.Our small beginnings just outside of the town of Honey Brook PA on an uncle's farm building were later transfered to our current manufacturing facility located in the heart of the Lancaster County Amish country on the Stoltzfus Family farm. The farm has been a part of our heritage for four generations now and when visiting our farm and manufacturing facility you might even find the fifth generation hard at work feeding calves or milking the cows.
The home farming operation is currently operated by grandpa (Steve Sr.) and the oldest son in the Stoltzfus Family and Sheds Unlimited is managed by the Steve Jr, the second son of five in the family. Other sons in the company include Johnny who works in the manufacturing shop and Mike who just returned in 2010 to assist in the Sheds Unlimited office.
Our Anabaptist Heritage:
The Amish and Mennonites are often admired for their contribution to society through hard work and commitment to living a lifestyle in community with others. Although this is certainly an important part of their daily lives, the goal of our people is to live out our faith in Jesus Christ every day in whatever we engage in. The teachings of the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5, 6 and 7 are some of the shaping principles of our community along with many other New Testament teachings.
For generations, the Amish and Mennonite people have been known for their quality craftsmanship. Values such as hard work, honesty and integrity have shaped the community of the Amish and Mennonites of the community and thuse on our goals for business life.
Customers often inquire about our affiliation with the Amish community. This can be a complex question to answer in a paragraph but we'll give it a try. Grandpa and Grandma (Steve Sr and Anna) both grew up in the Old Order Amish tradition know for horse and buggies and avoidance of modern technology. In their twenties they had a life changing encounter with Jesus Christ which took into the New Order Amish Church. The New Order group accepted electricity and modern machinery for farming, but retained the use of a horse and buggy for everday for transporation.The church Steve and Anna were a part of then accepted the use of cars and other modern technologies. Today they and some of the family are in a group called the Beachy-Amish or Amish-Mennonites formed in the 1927. This group of Amish has accepted cars, telephones and modern forms of transportation while retaining a community spirit of church life and practice. In all of our lifestyle, we wish to represent Christthrough our lives.
Our Goals:
We strive to provide our customers not only with a satisfactory building, our hope is that the entire process of purchasing a shed, working with our sales team and the final delivery can be an experience you can look upon fondly as have many of our customers. The buildings from our family owned and operated business are now a backyard collection of thousands of customers across the northeastern United States.
